Gotta lov-a da NASA | Thursday, July 01, 2004

So, I've been following all of the fun stuff recently: the Mars rovers, the Cassini project, and, of course, all of the private industry attempts at space flight (in particular, Paul Allen's Space Ship One).

So, right now US space flight is on a major high...there was a lady on NasaTV talking about the latest pictures of Saturn's Rings from Cassini and as she talked about the effects of one of the moons "penetrating the a-ring" I swear that she was actually getting off on it...and did you see the picture of the pilot riding on top of Spaceship One? To make my point shorter, after the US lost the last shuttle flight, causing a total revamp of the space program, along with a number of failed attempts on Mars, things have really been looking up...Nasa.gov has been getting litterally billions of hits. It all feels rather historic...almost like it's our generation's Moon landing; a feeling that I'm sure will grow once that x-prise is won!

Talking 'bout our g-g-generation!

The first private launch into space, the Stardust encounter of the Comet Wild 2, Cassini's close up of Saturn's rings! June was a great month for geeks!
